Collection: Lisa Conway Fine Ceramics

My journey with clay has transported me on a life-long adventure, ever expanding through the past three and a half decades, and deepening. The love affair I have with clay and nature has been an integral part of my life. Natural forces consisting of weather and environment play an organic role in my earlier series “Forest” and continues to be the energy behind my current work. As in “Forest,” where wind, age and the elements played a role in shaping the trees I grew inspiration from, I now focus on the beauty of floral and fauna. Nature’s wonders never fail to stretch my imagination. I am still awed in the presence of contorted trees and spring flowers. I hope sensuality is expressed in all of my work. I am constantly reminded of our beauty, grace, dignity and power.

Born and raised in Manhattan I have studied at many studios: Parsons School of Design, Earthworks, and Greenwich House where I am currently.
